If a defendant is convicted of a criminal offense, he or she may be ordered to pay fines, participate in community service, be placed under probation.  If a person fails to comply with the terms of his/her probation, or if a person commits a crime while on probation, or if the person’s probation officer finds that the person failed to adhere to probationary terms, he/she can be charged with probation violation. If a person violates thier probation, they may be subject to serve the remainder of the suspended jail sentence, pay fines, or be subject to stricter probation terms.   A probation violation occurs when any one or more of the following conditions are not met:



  • Failing a drug test
  • Being arrested during the length of your probation
  • Possessing illegal drugs
  • Leaving or moving out of the current state in which you reside
